Bluebells in Brussels

When I first heard about the Hallerbos outside Brussels I could not believe it. I googled the name to see some photos of it and honestly thought most of them were photoshopped. The bluebells only bloom a few weeks in April, so I had to be patient and wait almost one year to see them.

I decided to go to Halle just before sunset to have enough time to enjoy the forest and also increase my chances to see a few of the animals living there. I could already see the blue fields of flowers from the parking and went straight for the forest. It is clearly marked where you are allowed to walk and where not to. The forest is absolutely amazing! The young green leaves mixed with the bluebells gives the most beautiful colours you can imagine.

After a few hours the sun was setting and I headed back to my car. Just a couple of hundred meters from the parking I saw a deer between the trees. I stopped behind a tree and managed to get at few nice shots. As I slowly continued my way to the car I saw another one. They kept their distance to me but didn’t run away.

Thank you nature for this amazing evening!DSC_0011 DSC_0033_2 DSC_0035 DSC_0043 DSC_0072 DSC_0077 DSC_0099
